Anthony Maglica founded a one-man machine shop in 1955, named Mag Instrument. The company produced its first flashlight in 1979. Before long, police officers, firefighters and mechanics were raving about the tough, durable and dependable flashlight that would soon become an American classic.

When it comes to outsourcing, we’re just not interested. For more than 35 years, every MagLite flashlight has been developed at our company headquarters in California, then made in an American factory by American workers.

Over the years, Mag Instrument has had the opportunity to give back to communities, organizations and individuals across the country, and around the world. It’s part of the responsibility we feel to be a good corporate citizen.
